How to remove headrest on W124 - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Hi
I cannot recall how to remove the front headrest on my 1987 W 124 300TD.
I found the button on the back of the seat but can't remember the procedure.

Just push the button and pull the headrest.

This is a power head rest.
I did the following
I fully raised the head rest and pushed the button and gave it slight pressure upward.
it didn't move so I stopped and ask advice.
Didn't want to break anything.

Seems that there was a certain height at which the release would be behind the soft-spot in the seatback, and that is important to release it. No FSM here to check, sorry.

No luck.
I know that the part that raises the rest is plastic.
I'm hesitant to put too much pressure on it
