Removing the interior rear "wing" panels from a W123 TD

By "wing" I mean the two panels that are carpeted, run along either side of the
carpeted floor "hatch"; and are placed between the hatch and first aid package
panel cover on the passenger side, and spare cover on the driver's side --
rear of the wheel well covers.

I've removed all the obvious screws. Both of these are stuck to the sheet metal
deck in a way that I think means there is a "trick" to removing them. I've seen
the bare metal deck, but can't see an obvious "latching" feature. I can't imaging
mercedes gluing them down, and the rest of the wagon I'm parting out ...

<luggage rack cross bars! uncracked blue dash!>

...is unmolested.

Any hints from someone who has removed these in the past?

mine have always just pried up.
not glued down, just pinned down by the other trim.
I jammed a screwdriver into the carpet, and pushed, and it kinda rolled out.

I'm disassembling the tail gate tomorrow and will snap a few pics while
its still in, and out. Hafta make a tool to get the bushing off the wiper
shaft.
