Ran out of Diesel

aaand cant get to the station... I have a gallon jug of Fresh un used peanut oil.... I hate to ask but. is this a safe substitute to get me to the station or should I hitch a ride with my can and get a few gallons of diesel?

Sure - spin your fuel filter off and fill it up and save some crank time.

did you run completely out? If so, ugh. If you have air in the IP, get out the battery charger, and undo all the fuel lines at the injectors --- you have to bleed the air out. I went thru this ONCE on Coda.

yep. Figured that much which means the point is moot, I dont have a batt charger on hand so I wont be going anywhere. and the engine will be long cold before I could..

Fill the fuel filter, pour the rest in the fuel tank and crank it up..

Peanut oil works, atf will get you out of trouble as well, even old sump oil will get you out of a bind. I once ran out in a supermarket car park, should have seen the looks I got putting cooking oil in the filter & tank.
Probably you only need a quart in the tank & 1/2 a pint in the filter. Get yourself a 1/2 size jerry can & put it in the back compartment under the lift up bit on the floor. The right ones fit well.
