Correct size tubbing?

I am looking for the fuel lines that run between injectors on my 71 220D. There appears to be leaking injectors and I noticed when I moved the lines the air sucking noise left. I don't know the last time these were replaced and want to do it now. Also any tips on this procedure would be great. Thanks!

Is this the correct tubing?

3.2mm if that is the per foot price thats a good deal!
As for the procedure cut the new lines to match the old ones. I just pull them off and push them back on by hand. sometimes you have to use pliers, but that can damage the hose.

Not sure if that's the right hose. Can't tell from the picture. They're called return lines. Thread on the topic in the last few days title "braded hose" (spelled that way) I think. Don't damage the barbed nipples when removing.

I am surprised that your 220D uses the wimpy braided hose method of return lines. Our '68 had this all piped together with metal lines and banjo fittings. Never had to replace any of this, including the injectors in 20 years of driving that car. Never any leaks either !!

When did the system change???

Make the replacements a bit too long. That way when they leak next time you can cut 1/2' off each end & re use the hose. Be careful not to get them in the way of the throttle linkages.
Good Luck.

I'd guess that is not the correct injector return tubing until verified. I also prefer clear lines so that I can see the flow.

Not sure on the change, every 220D I have seen had this style.

Just got in the mail from Mcmaster: 5549K31 25 ft Clear Tygothane Polyurethane Tubing 1/8" ID, 1/4" OD, 1/16" Wall Thickness $0.55 a ft. I'll be trying it out and can report results if you're interested.

Polyurethane is neat that you can see through it, but it may not stay fast at the press-on junctions for as long as standard black braided hoses do. The poly hose tends to "harden to shape" and looses pliability faster than black.
