Door trim removal

I have developed a horrible squeak behind the little chrome triangle on the passengers door. I think it is the access for removing the outside mirror. It is either this or that plastic stuff that runs around the door rubbing on the metal. It only does it on cold mornings. As soon as it heats up, it goes away.

How do you remove the little triangle without breaking "it" or any little plastic tabs?
