My cruise control amp just went out on my 84 300SD, I was wondering if anyone on this forum can repair the 2 I have or is there a way I can repair it?
Thank You ahead of time! Jim |

You can do it yourself. Do a search for "cruise control amp resoldering".

Ive repaired a couple of these. In addition to the dry-joints, there's also a couple of caps that dry up and the set-speed/hold double reed-relay can go leaky as well as the set-speed reference voltage cap causing slowly dropping set-speed.
The FET is an odd (Old) one in that reference circuit and great care is needed when working on that part of the circuit as static or poor iron-grounding and static precautions can destroy it.....
