1986 250d 5-speed flex disks -- what to use
I have a grey market 124.125 5-speed. Using EPC I looked up
the various part numbers and worked to match them against US variants. The flex disks seem to be the same as 190D (A 202 410 12 15, A 202 410 10 15) as are the drive shaft boot and center bearing. At least one vendor offers different lemforder disks for manual/auto -- is this something that makes a difference ? The center bearing support seems only to have been used on the 260E (A 124 410 06 81). All I have found that matches is an URO part (that's what fastlane offers) with the bearing included. I generally try to strive for lemforder or mercedes parts. Any idea what other options I might have ? Also, the PO removed the vibration damper a 25,000 miles ago when it split. Should I source a new one ? I do notice some vibration at low rpms and take it as a sign to downshift. Geoffrey

They switched to the "googly-eyed" flex disks at some point, so that's probably the second type of flex disk. Supposed to be extra flexible or something. That's the type I found on a 190d 5-speed.
