Welcome to the forum.

I feel the need to return balance to the universe and start a thread simply titled. "old".

Too bad you drove nearly 1300 miles and have "no liking" for your car. I love mine.

Best of luck.

Welcome big d,
We all hope that you will be able to get all the help you need on here.
Looks like you have a good car.
That length drive straight after purchase is a gutsy effort.
Glad it went so well.
When you start needing to do some maintenance, if you are a DIY, there will be information on just about everything you could ever need to do !!
Dont be scared to ask!!
Best when you put up a post asking a question, please describe the topic in your title of your post. You will get much more help that way.

Good Luck with your car !!

WELCOME!!!

Welcome to the group.
There is a lot of reading to be done. Many questions have been asked/answered. On the upper right portion of the page is the Resources Tab check out the DIY Articles. It covers lots of basic functions like oil changes, filter changes, You've got an OM602 engine, but stuff for OM60X engines will be appropriate also. Also W124 stuff is also appropriate. Your 0-60 time should be about 12 seconds, above 18 seconds or so you're not getting turbo boost. There are great recommendations to cure it. Before you go crazy chasing vac issues or replacing switch over valves do a search on wastegate actuator swap. ( http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=212097&highlight=wastegate+modification) It's not too difficult and IMHO well worth it.

Always use Diesel Rated oil. It begins with a C not an S. There are lots of oil threads. People feel pretty brand oriented. Just make sure it's not ENERGY CONSERVING those are for gas engines.

There are links posted for the online service manuals. Will cover just about everything.

Congrats on your purchase. The group is here to assist.

Oops. Yep, agree 100%. But I do get a kick out of many posts/titles on this and other forums. I am just as imperfect as the next guy, but I also have a sense of humour.

you will love the car much more if the motor mounts are new, and the vacuum hoses are all leak free!
