Help! Can't get hood open

I think i left a tool under the hood and it closed but now it won't unlatch. Its my new 1987 TD . I pulled the hood release and had my kids stand on edge of hood above the catch to push it down as much as possible so the catch would release. I even pulled the cable from the red lever and pulled on it with pliers. No luck :(

Any ideas how to get it to release? Maybe have the wife stand on the hood?

Thanks

reach up between the fan and rad and see if you can feel a tool up in there. otherwise you can try pulling hard on the cable but I dont know past that. pushing down over the latch to give the lever system room to move should ideally work. may need someone with a little more weight to do it.

ouch.
I'd not let the wife see this post...
sorry I have no ideas to report.
I can go look at my hood and see if anything jumps out at me.

ok. if the tool is keeping the main latch from hooking, pushing down is only going to damage things.
see if you can pickup on the hood. it's likely the front release latch is grabbing. jiggle and lift, and see if you can get the tongue to stick out, and try that.

This may not help.
But, if you know some place where there is an extremely rough road that vibrates and jars your Car around you might try driving over it. The Vibration might shift the tool around some.
