Dashboard Mounted Air Vents
On an 85 W123. This is the twist to open/close vents, four of them, that I'm asking about. One will not block air and it's obvious the vent itself is broken. The other, the trim ring in the dash just popped out and I can see that something plastic broke off. The vent itself looks like something is broken too. How is this trim ring held onto the vent? Snap in place via some kind of metal ring or? I found some vents but need to know how the trim ring is attached so I can ask the guy if he has them.
Thanks All.

To remove the vent you have to get behind the dash and twist the rear portion and it will unsnap and come loose. Then you can pull the front part out. If you pull out the glove box and the under dash panel on the passenger side you should be able to reach it, but it will be tight.
