300TD at local MB mechanic $2000

Saw this car today and thought someone might be interested. Not even sure what year (1983?). Has the Service paint Job that was just done by his shop. 3rd row seat. 270k on the clock. Some cracks on dash, bucnh in wood grain. Seats faded a bit. Definately not perfect, but he says it runs fine. Body is straight -Didn't see much rust at all! Here are a few pics.

Diaz auto in Pittsboro, NC - Diaz is the owner (919) 545-5554. He has a ton of MB around the yard, many for sale.

nice looking car. I am not so crazy about the 2 tone, but it looks straight. Do you have a list of what doesnt work?

I am working outside Milton, NC today. Not sure how far away this is. 2 friends are looking for older benz.

Don't like the paint, but like the car. If he would be willing to work a trade on my 81 300D I would drive over there (7+hours) tomorrow.

I would have to hate myself to drive a car with that color combination. On the other hand it would be a good excuse to never wash it again. It has to take $500 off the value of the car.

My thought exactly, I know it would cost me 500 bucks to have it repainted.

Love the sponges to stop the air filter housing rattle- which could be stopped by $3 worth of air filter housing mounts. Gotta wonder about a "mechanic" like that. Pink zip ties? Did they stop selling black ones to match the black wires?

Garnet and white!!! Perfect car for tailgating at University of South Carolina games! Just put some gamecock decals all over it!

Ditto. Vac setup in the engine bay gives it away.

I would've said the lack of switchover valves and the placement of the electronic switch on the valve cover gives it away.

That pretty much refers to the vac setup.

late 84s and fed 85s are setup that way but the location of the sls oil tank screams 85....a hole in the inner fender for the cali model option would confirm its a fed 85

I don't see the blue flying saucer vacuum amplifier that 85's have. Maybe it's out of the picture to the right but I don't see any vacuum lines running in it's direction.
