Valve Stem Seal Tool
Made a simple tool to press on valve stem seals using a washer over seal, then a bushing another washer and then nut on valve stem -intake is easy by hand, exhaust harder for me for some reason, either way, I am finding this job tricky as I am seconding guessing myself on when seal is seated correctly and already distorted one exhaust seal using another method. Its funny how it is the little things sometimes that are more complicated than you think versus more complicated jobs -pita! I hate the idea of completing this job and then finding out that I have oil running down stem because I did not seat properly and redoing all over again -tricks to test seating of seal anyone?

yep, that is all I could come up with too - will measure and create a simple tool to measure correct distance and hold my breath -wrenching, always a learning experience! |

What I used to press my Valve Stem Seals on last month was just a Brass fitting had laying around (see post#2 in the thread). It allowed me to get my Thumb and Index Finger of each hand on opposite sides of the Fitting to push down. I was able to feel the Seal go down and stop.
I did measure the old ones before I began but I did not save the measurments. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=288477
