MB specialized transmission shop in DFW area??

Hello every body, does anyone know of a good MB certified transmission shop in the Dallas Ft Worth area??? My 1991 restored 300 D 2.5 Turbo Diesel (well WVO) pride broke a little piece of plastic retainer in the transmission to replace which you need to brake everything down. I went to a certain point with it and i am 100% sure its the reaction valve and pin oposite to the B2 piston but i can not replace the part myself cause it requies a whole break down of the tranny. I can take the tranny out but i dont know if thats such a good idea since from what i have read people say that a good transmission shop should dyno test the car to make sure it works right before delivery. Any resposes are greatly appreciated
thanks in advance
Denis

There's a shop on White Settlement in Fort Worth that I always see has a bunch of old MBs parked in front of it. I don't know anyhting about them but there's always tons of Mercedes there. Maybe because they don't do a good job and customers are having to return? Who knows.

I don't know of any MB trans shop in DFW. I suggest you call some of the better independents and ask if they do trans work. If not, ask where/how they get it done. I would bet many of them just source an MB factory rebuilt trans - fewer comebacks that way.

We have a regular poster that runs a shop in DFW - but I am drawing a blank on his screen name right now. Anyone know? Otherwise, on the north side of town both Rodney Herson Automotive and Autoscope have good reputations. Suggest you contact them to discuss your dilemma.

Thank you gentleman for all your responses I live right by Rodney Hurst shop right up the street and when i was restoring my MB i stopped there a couple of times for a couple of simple questions and he was not very responsive and always seemed way too busy to even talk to you. But maybe he really was or i caught him on a bad day but i will try again. Freddy's transmission seems pretty good ill give them a a call. I have also been looking on the internet for rebuild transmissions or shops that do and sell those and ship them as well so i can put it in myself does any one know of a good place or web site for that or is that even wise to do??
again thank you all

I've seen a few posts referring to these folks for parts: http://www.jie.com/Mercedes/mercedes_benz_transmissions.htm

I haven't used them personally. IIRC, they are located in Houston.

Freddys rebuilt my 6.3 tranny. The Houston guy is named Jurgen and he is wholesale only, you have to take the box to him, all the shops use him. My mechanic in Houston likes him, he did some work on my 6.9 tranny when I lived down there.

I know a fellow who rebuilds engine and trannies for Ford. But he's an MB guy and a member of this forum. He has rebuilt a 3 speed 722.0 for me that I sold on, the 722.3 on his 560SEL and a 722.3 on a 300SDL as a referral from me. He's based in FT worth and is honest, reliable and would be a good option if he will take it on as side work to his regular job.

I forwarded this thread to him in case he is interested.

Clint McBride @ Clint's Transmissions rebuilt the transmission in my 300sdl before I bought it. 5428 Jacksboro Hwy, Ft Worth TX 817-625-4851

It works real good, no issues, no drips, no seepage. Good Luck!
