Add me to the spring perch failure list.....
 

Well, add me to the e300 spring perch failure list. Coming home from Cub Scouts last week I heard a "dragging/creaking" sound coming from the left front. I was able to limp home and discovered that the driver's spring perch had failed. I was lucky it wasn't a complete failure and still supported the spring some. I can't imagine was a sudden left tug on the steering wheel on a two lane country road with oncoming traffic would result in.

Took it to Tafel Motors in Louisville, KY and have found out that they aren't covering a single penny of this. I have read other folks getting this repair covered due to the design flaw and/or sealant failure. Does anyone have any pointers on how I can work with the Mercedes dealer to get all or some of this $765 repair for the left side only paid for? Thanks for any assistance.
