FLA Car's First Winter

My car, that lived it's whole life in Delray Beach, FL has had it's first taste of winter. Here in the Cleveland area we have been treated to four straight days of below freezing temps and about 20" of snow. I had recently put on a set of Cooper all season tires and their traction has exceeded my expectations. ODOT decided not to start plowing the Interstates until there was about 6" on the roadways and several cars in the ditches.
So far so good. CCU is not working exactly as it's supposed to, but I have heat and the defroster works. Only casualty was my rear window defroster switch. It felt kinda crunchy the first couple times I tried it. Today it died.

You should get a season pass to a car wash and get it washed everyweek or everytime it looks salty to try to preserve the body.

I've got just the dash switch if you need one. I'm in C-bus I can mail it to you or you could come get it.

Got dat right. My (mostly) FL 88 300CE arrived in NJ in 2001 and still looks good. I try to keep salt & salt air off of it. And it is/has been always garaged. That helps.

2001.....in FL when I bought it.

2007 at John Hef's gtg in MD.

Wow, that is one clean engine compartment. I did have a little rust around the front jack holes and under the right tailight. I bead blasted the rust at the jack holes and painted it with Por 15. I blasted the spot at the tailight and had to weld in some small pieces of 20 ga sheet metal. Then self etching primer, filler and paint. Can't tell it was repaired.
After 23 year most of the underside of the car had a thin coat of oil or fuel on it. I did not wipe any of it off. I figured anything to keep the salt out.
