The main HVAC blower on my 87 Wagon, Squeals from time to time. It's not a rip roaring Squeal, but more like the dulcet tone of a nest of mice chittering away. right now it's quiet... do I need to replace this thing or what can I do to make it quiet all the time?

Just take it out and clean and lube it. Handle the cage fans carefully as they are most likely old and brittle.Not a really big job and while you have all that plastic cowl & plastic stuff out you might as well take the windshield wiper out and clean and lube it as well.All the info you need for both jobs can be found here with a search.
