MB Roadside Assistance (USA)
FYI
Just today I received a (presorted std) letter from M-B USA, LLC (a PO Box in Broadway, NJ), informing me of the 'improvements' to the MB Roadside Assistance... The 'good' news is: they'll now tow you to the nearest MB . L i c e n s e d . Dealer for repairs. The bad is: you're only eligible if - the vehicle is under warranty, or - you've purchased it from an MB Licensed Dealer (before a day coming up soon), or - it has been regularly serviced at an MB Licensed Dealer (ie, you've spent at least $100 within the last 18 months) If you have additional questions regarding the enhanced Roadside Assistance services, please visit www.MercedesRoadside.com or call our program information hotline, at 1-888-454-9907.(my emphasis) Cheers, AK PS Another great move by a respected company, methinks (not!) (edit: I'll get a better scan soon)

There is a lengthy thread on this subject from a couple of months ago. My 85 is still in Dad's name and it was bought new from a local dealership. I need to reread it since I believe it still has to have been serviced once in the last 18 months at a dealership for a minimum dollar amount to still qualify. I have to pull it from the glovebox and llok at it.

I received the same letter in the mail a few weeks back, and was kind of wondering the same. Although I've never used it, I've always been under the impression that calling the 1-800-for-merc number would mean basic roadside assistance for the life of the vehicle. Tows and fuel would cost money, as would batteries, etc.. but jump starts and the like were free.
If I read the letter right, this is no longer the case, right? I'd need to have my 300D serviced by MB to qualify? If so, that's really unfortunate.

I have spent hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in parts from The Classic Center in the past 18 months. Does that count?
