Cross-threaded Motor Mount Arm
I'm not sure if this belongs here or not since it's more of a general question, but I figured I'd find the answer nonetheless. Moderators, feel free to move.
Well, I've gone and cross-threaded what looks like maybe the first four or five threads in the drivers side motor mount arm. I already have a tap of the right dimensions, should I just use that or should I go out and buy a real thread chaser? Do I have to get a new arm?

What is the part # on the arm? I have a set that are not for a 126 and have no use for them.

It's 615 223 13 04, but these are my 616 arms that I'm using with a 617. The 617 arm probably has a different number cause it needs a place to mount the shock. If it has 617 as the first three numbers, it's probably for a W123 300D. Either will do.

no better place for this thread than here on Diesel Discussion!
I'd not try to clean the threads, I'd either put in a helicoil or the like, or replace the arm. heck, if you have a 617 in a 240, I'd get a set of 617 arms, and drill a place for the shocks!
