Short glow cycle, car wont start

Is a short glow cycle a sign of a bad glow plug relay??
I took all my gp's out and they are good, very good glow on all of them.
GP fuse is good too.

You need to put where you are located in the upper right part of the post...
Both AC and starting problems are potentially affected by location.

The light on the dash is just a suggestion. The actual glow time is either 20-40 seconds or when the starter is used, whichever happens first.

If the glowplugs are working, ignore the light, count to 10 (or 20 if its really cold) then crank it. If the engine runs rough after that time then you have at least one failed plug.

Car was running fine and i had been driving it all day for the past 3 days actually, i parked at my house to drop of some groceries and went back outside to repark my vehicle in the garage, since i figured car was warm i got in car and turned key without waiting for glow cycle, but it just kept cranking and it wouldnt start.:dunce:

To make things even worse i decided that maybe i had a leak in the system, because i primed away and i heard a priming sound but also like air at the lift pump, i had a spair so i thought it be way easy to swap the lift pump, not at night!!!
I made a big mess and now broke off the plastic fuel line that goes from spin on to the lift pump, i feel totally dumb and im stranded.

The broken line can be patched with rubber hose.

OM616, 617.912, 617.952, Plastic fuel lines with fittings, injection pump

Your issue sounds like a cracked hose/line or bad primer pump sucking air.

What size/diameter hose can i use? do i peel off hard plastic line first? how do i attach it?
I have a brand new primer pump.

The FSM actually suggests leaving the key in glow position for up to 60 seconds...and has a chart to show how much hotter it gets if left longer than the usual gp light suggestion.
