Major electrical problem Help please!!!!

CAR model 1991 MB 300 D 2.5 Turbo Diesel w124 602 engine

Please I need some guidance on how to tackle this problem
I was trying to install a remote start/automatic lock unlock/alarm system.
Everything went well until the optional glow plug monitoring relay installation, which I am sure I have made a mistake installing (and I didn't even need it).
While testing the system briefly by easily disconnecting the battery I sensed smoke coming out of the fuse box.
I opened it up and found that one of the wires connected to fuse number 9 was charred.
Pink and red thin wire that is part of a harness that terminates on plug number 009 545 55 38, sitting in position 1 of that plug underneath the fuse panel.
This wire melted its plastic shield through out the length at least inside the box.
As far as I can see it goes out of there (NOT towards) the relays, to the side of the fuse box where it splits in two groups, one goes towards the front of the vehicle, and the other one toward the back center of the car underneath some other cables and through the firewall.
I don't know how far it is melted or which direction it goes when it leaves the fuse box.

My question is what do you do in this case?
How do you trace it, and if anyone knows what this Pink and Red thin wire of Fuse 9 is for?

It seems like it has done no damage other that.
The car was briefly on battery for 3-4 times max less than a minute each.
I need to get this solved before I leave the country
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thank you Denis

In order for a typical car wire to melt like that, you had an unfused dead short to ground. Cut the wire from its source of power at the fuse box, at a minimum.

Take some pictures and post them.

thank you all for taking the time to help me with it and thank you whunter for revising my writing. Run on paragraphs were my biggest drawback in English even in school.
I am attaching some pics here to give a general idea of what has happened.
There are 3 wires connected to the fuse 9 one is a thick wire with a smaller one attached together and that's intact. Ther are also 2 other smaller gauge pink/red wires one of them is burned to a crisp well it has melted the whole insulation.

The only two connections that i have done wrong i know is one getting an accessory line not from the ignition harness but from the radio which is a green/black wire but i know that is a acc line and is connected in the right kit spot.
Where i have my biggest doubts and now i know that i have made a mistake is attaching an automotive relay to the glow plug relay of the car that was supposed to signal "glow plug ready" for the remote start portion of the kit. I know there is a pink/red wire there that i messed with and ground where all i should have done was figure out which one was the negative glow plug wire.
Here are some pics please tell me where would you start to correct this mess if it was yours
thanks a millio0n

No one can help you from those pics. You need a wiring diagram for your car, draw out the relay you added onto the diagram to see what the mistake was and why the wires shorted out and what other circuits was affected. With an ohmmeter, buzz out what damage the melted wires caused and cut out the shorted wires and replace with new wires.

I solve the above issue the wire was coming from that plug in the fuse box under the fuses to the glow plug relay unit in the engine comportment i followed all the line replaced it cleaned the burned particles removed the auto relay that i added that actually messed up the circuit and now everything is working fine.
I still got one question though, which wire is the NEGATIVE glow plug wire??? What is its color in the glow plug relay box in the engine compartment in the bunch with 5 wires going in it??
Thank you
Denis

Negative is always brown on these cars. The GP's themselves are grounded to the engine.
