The oil pump is off, is there anything I should do to it while it is off ? I have a new chain for it.

Take a long metal rod and knock out the steel ball in the front of the block by entering the rear and tapping with a hammer. (outlined in manual)

Spray inside with mineral spirits then blow it out with compressed air.

Take a good look at your manual and the trace the oil route; do the same cleaning procedure beginning at the top of the block and working your way down.

You can also open up the oil pump if you have any concerns. When installing the pump, make sure to clean the sprocket bolt and use locktite on it.

Good luck.

I would do the injector o -rings ,they leak after old age and not expensive.Oh wait ,the tool is the expensive part, around $75. I would see if you can get a loaner.Diesel Giant has a good How To.I love 190 diesels ,once you get your hands on one keep it.Five years from now youll be happy to say you saved a reasonable cheap car to go reasonable cheap down the road.
