Will a 60x Fuel filter work on a 61x in a pinch?

I have a friend who's got my old 85 300SD and he may have a plugged fuel filter. There are no parts for a MB diesel in town and I have a bunch of fuel filters for my old 603 engine. Will one of these work for him in a pinch?

I don't believe so.
I think the bolt is smaller on the 603 filters, and there is a rubber gasket instead of the o-ring. on the banjo bolt.
you could pull the bolt, and see if it will thread in, but I doubt it.
any auto parts store will have generic fuel filters that fit the 61x motors.

How about National Auto Parts; NAPA will have the WIX version for the 617.

I used in my '85 300D-T (W123, OM617) FRAM 2930 (made in Turkey, not Mexico). An excellent filter and reasonably priced.

The OM60x filters will not fit.

Isn't that an oil filter?

The banjo bolt hole is indeed smaller. It will not fit.
