240 cly. heads

hello, HELP!!, have a 1978 240d with hardened cam and original cly. head, have axcess to 1981 head with late chilled high lift cam. My cam is worn. Can I transfer later cam,rockers,caps,retainers, and add short updated seals ( while using what I believe are early tall guides) and not have retainer seal interference? ( do plan to use the later cam pedistals too.)
