Generations, Diesel Wagon Pictoral

Some of you may find it interesting. Others wont care. I found it amusing.

Left to right, 123, 124 124.5 (the only non Diesel)

The blue wagon was a loaner as the Blower is a pain in the Tukus to change and I had/have my car still apart.

Man I've always had a major soft spot for the 124 wagons. I've owned a few 123 wagons and they are fantastic, but I think I need to find myself a nice 124 diesel wagon one of these days.

I love my wagon, the 123 wagon is nice but.. It's not designed for people of larger size, but still that wagon is butt ugly but its still fun to drive when it's loaned to me. I still prefer my 124's though. never drove a newer wagon past 1995

The 123's rear end looks a lot wider than the 124's, wonder if it's just an optical illusion... I know people love the w123, but it does look really old now whereas the 124's styling was so subtle it still looks modern today, as well as being light years ahead of the 123 to drive.

Love mine still after 6 years of ownership

the 123 is much closer to the camera than the 124 is. I'm pretty sure the widths are the same. I'll compare mine when I get home...

I much prefer the looks of the 123 wagon. The 116 wagons were also better lookers than the 124.

MB didn't make one but there have been quite a few pictures of non-MB conversions into wagons of 116's on the forum. Can't remember the name of the company that did it, but I'm pretty sure it was the same (Belgium?) company that did conversions into ambulances and hearses.

Cars are Equal Distance. The 123 was probably 4-6 inches more forward then my 124.

Here's a picture of the awful 116 wagon, I'm ashamed to say it was an English company that did it...

apparently it was the back from a ford granada! Sophia Loren had one for her dogs, I'd much rather have seen her in this though...

Except that the roof rack is goshawful looking.

Any 116 wagon is a one-off custom, as noted.

Most of the early wagons, ambulances, etc prior to the 123 wagons were built by Crayford Engineering in England.

I was thinking about a diesel family truckster. Airbags would be good for future kiddies.
