Brand new Monark Injectors loud on start up

New Monark Injectors were sent to local diesel shop for mating to the injector bodies using precise calibration (no shims) and set the spray pattern. I installed the new Monarks using new heat shields.

Recently, there has been some nailing on start up. Once the engine is warmed up, the nailing stops, the engine quiets down and sounds normal. I'm thinking of purchasing injector line heaters/fuel filter heaters in hopes of quieting things down. Any ideas as to why the cold start up noise/nailing?

how long have the nozzels been in? I think it takes like 1000miles or so to seat them properly.
what do you mean "precision" "no shims" I've not heard of this. contact C.SeanWatts here on the forum for info on the monarks and installation info.
but it could be normal seat in on them!

Was the pop pressure increased? My new nozzles were jumped to 145 and this retartded the injection enough to really make a racket at cold idle.

Mr Watts did my Monark nozzles, and it took around 800 miles before they quieted down.

X2 for Sean Watts. I had alot of air in the system that componded the noise.
I kept cracking the injector nuts and was getting beer like bubbles, very small, but still there. When I finally got all the air out it was better. Mine got really quiet after about 300 miles.

You may need to check the pressure control on the IP, If its not getting enough feed pressure when cold the injectors will play up like that. There are several threads about the dreaded spring in the banjo bolt on the return.
