Headlight problem
Good Evening,
I was sitting with my parking lights on waiting for my son to finish violin practice. When we got ready to go I turned the lights on, and they stayed on a second and went out. I tried turning the knob several times with no luck. I did discover that going from dim to high beam, that the lights work on high beam, but not low beam. I don't know if I should start with the steering column, or buy new headlights thinking that these are dead on dim. Sure would appreciate any suggestions. Hugh Sr 1984 190d (W201) 99,340 |

Try wiggling your turn signal stalk and see if they come on. You may need to replace that part.

I checked he fuses a few minutes ago, and none were blown. I noticed that there was a fuse for the left & right high beam, but no low beam.

IVfuzzy- same thing happened to me last week- low beam inmy drivers side went out, but all others were good. I had a new spare, and that fixed it, but I had ordered a standard replacement bulb, and had two halogens in there previously. Go figure. But I'm legal, anyway. i thought the low beam element just went out on the old one.
