Headlight problem

Good Evening,

I was sitting with my parking lights on waiting for my son to finish violin practice. When we got ready to go I turned the lights on, and they stayed on a second and went out. I tried turning the knob several times with no luck. I did discover that going from dim to high beam, that the lights work on high beam, but not low beam. I don't know if I should start with the steering column, or buy new headlights thinking that these are dead on dim. Sure would appreciate any suggestions.

Try wiggling your turn signal stalk and see if they come on. You may need to replace that part.

I checked he fuses a few minutes ago, and none were blown. I noticed that there was a fuse for the left & right high beam, but no low beam.

IVfuzzy- same thing happened to me last week- low beam inmy drivers side went out, but all others were good. I had a new spare, and that fixed it, but I had ordered a standard replacement bulb, and had two halogens in there previously. Go figure. But I'm legal, anyway. i thought the low beam element just went out on the old one.
