good day at the pull a part

look what i snagged today... not sure if i will use these or not but i had to get them... one has a crack in the housing and was full of water

these came off of what appeared to be a US spec 300D...if anyone in the Mobile area is looking for parts the rest of the car is pretty complete and had a decent brown leather interior and crack free dash... the engine was complete however the body has been "modified" i didnt have my camera with me to take pictures but the entire car had been painted including the body molding and the rubber bumper ends

oh the car is at barry's on I-10

when I see a euro 300, I pull:

cluster
vac switch for headlights
headlights and wipres if they are there
rear seat back if it has head rests
trunk triangle and or clip
rear tail lights if they have red corners
manual antenna
bumpers if the chrome is still good and if they are 3 piece chrome
injection pump and lines if it has the euro curvy lines and injection pump

I found a Euro 250E in my local yard. Both the euro bumpers where crunched, as were both the the euro tail lights, no euro headlights or corners, no triangle. All I got out of it was the headlight vac switch, it was in the yards off limits area when I first spotted it. So I asked it I could go look at it, and they let me, so I was probably the first to look it over. It had been rear ended pretty badly. No good euro scores for me on that one.

Be careful with those mirrors. Taking a rag to them will ruin them. It would probably behoove you to find a local mirror store, the replacements are $50 and up.

So a mirror place should be able to restore the finish? I didn't even think about possible damage from a rag. Thanks for the heads up. It will probably be a few weeks before I get to them since I am trying to chase down some electrical gremlins in my Oldsmobile.

They're silver plated, the silver scratches very very easily. I cleaned mine up with some cleaner for the anti reflective coating on my glasses and a very, very soft cloth. It still put some small scratches in. It looks like all the silver has come off of the one though

If you find a place that can re silver them let us know!
