Water Pump for 300D

I was down at the local MB Dealer today trying to found the wereabouts of this one part I had ordered when I asked the guy there how much a Waterpump costs.

His Anwser: $33.75 with a $40 Core charge

Hearing this, I bought one right away

It's a rebuilt unit, but it's still a MB part.

water pump

Captain Kirk,

I find it odd also that they are relatively inexpensive. Here at the local dealer, they are $25 with a $65 core charge if you don't keep your old one.

Thanks for raining on my parade

I was saying how much it was because at Fastlane they quote the dealer's price as "$89" while their's are in the $50's

It probably isn't a good one.........

Contrary to popular believe, some German Companies build crappy stuff.

Now to a more serious topic

Do I need to take out the whole Waterpump housing or can I just take out the waterpump by it's self?

(I'm going off what it says is the Haynes manual, I'm about to fire up the Manual on a CD)

Just undo the fan , slip it out from the belts, and undo the pump itself.
Clean surfaces well and install.

Not complicated.
That is how it was done on my '79 300D
