W124 E300D voltage regulator

Hi, does anyone have the correct Bosch part number for this? I've not had any trouble from mine yet (touch wood), but at 207k I'd like to keep a spare... cheers.

No idea but if you have the spare in hand I would just replace it and be safe. Granted a diesel can still run without one but you won't be able to restart the car after you shut it down(Ask me how I know )

When mine went I noticed that the dash warning lights would start glow very while I was idling at a light. It could really only be seen at night....

Regulator 002 154 72 06

Fulcrum is right. Get a new regulator. You can get them here. Click "Buy Parts" at screen top, supports forum.

Remove old regulator, keep as spare. This teaches you how and lets you do the job under controlled conditions instead of having to learn the hard way, on a dark and stormy night. It also means you have a new regulator in the alternator that will be good for many years.

I actually tried looking reverse searching the part on Fastlane it didn't come up.... Just to make sure is the Euro regulator the same as the US ones?

I was lucky, mine couldn't have gone out on a nicer day

It could have easily been raining and miserable out though....

cheers, I'll have to phone up the dealership or bosch agent and find out for sure I guess. There are a couple of big parts suppliers here in the uk I usually use but strangely they don't carry them. I was going to check the regulator the other day but my alternator has the plastic cover at the back, which you can't get off all the way 'cause the heat exchanger pipes are helpfully in the way. So the whole alternator has to come off to check/replace the regulator.
