83 300sd Turbo starting issue

Hey, if you guys could help that'd be great!

My 1983 300SD was starting up great and then, after I filled it up, it lost all power. i was jump started and made it home where i plugged in my charger, after a while on the charger, the battery was full and all of my electrics work fine until the key is turned. everything dims down and the car wont turn over.

Its got a brand new starter and battery and a fairly new alt.

If you've got any ideas let me know

Battery could still be bad.

Have you tried a voltage drop test between the alt and the battery? Cable could be bad.

Heck you may have an accessory draining you such as the trunk light...

Are you doing many stop/starts? Lots of stop/go driving with most accessories on such as light, HVAC on high, etc? I killed a few batteries this way as the alternator cannot keep up like this.

trunk light....

yes sir agree with that one.....also check the fusebox as you might have a constant draw that you don't know anything about....

or your battery cable is F ed, as it cannot handle the high current, bad connections or chafed.
go to a elec /battery shop to check.

Either a weak battery OR bad connection at battery OR junction block.

Ditto.
return the battery to the store you got it from, they should test it and replace it if it's new. (less than 2 years)
