Question Dash Climate Control Vent Removal? W123

One of the round vents itself in the dash - the part you twist to open and close for airflow - broke today. Maybe I should learn to stop playing with it as i drive along

How do you R&R? From the rear?

Pull the vent hose off of it then grab ahold of the vent from the back and twist it just a bit either way then pull out.

If you pull the hose off, you then grab the front and rear portion and twist at most a 1/8 turn then pull the back off. Then there is a metal spring washer(for a lack of a better term) you'll have to remove that will still be on the back side of the front half that's still in the dash. The metal washer is not clipped on or anything, but sitting on the vent.
