Swapping '82 300D engine into '80 300SD
OK... so I found a mostly rust-free 1980 300SD fairly close that supposedly has a blown engine...I am think about purchasing the car and swapping the engine from my 1982 300D rust-bucket....
My question is...Would the swap be straight forward?....is there any significant differences between the cars?? I am not familiar w/ the early model SD cars....

Pretty straight forward, Buddy. Maybe a slight difference in oil filter, maybe not. If it is different, it should be plainly visible. Should be almost a plug and play thing. It is a heavy engine though.

Anything you need should be on the blown engine.
