After Car Sits for Week or More, Throttle Slow to Release
On both my cars (91 and 92 300D), I've noticed this tendency: if I haven't driven it for a week or more, the throttle is slow to release during the first day of driving, as if something is sticking; feels like cruise control is partially engaged, though it does slow down (just not as quickly as it should).
Throttle linkage stays pretty well lubed. Any idea as to where system might be sticking? Thanks. |
Work from the throttle cable attachment to the linkage and disconnect/lube work from the pedal to the IP and check for freedom of movement return at each connection. There is a pivot point that is a bugger to lube. Ask me how I know...
