Changed Gear selector switch, now No Start

HELP
I had been having trouble with the transmission rough shifting during the cold weather. I read somewhere to change the gear selector switch.
I disconected the battery, took everything apart, ordered the switch, put everything back together, now it will not start.
I turn the ignition to position 1, everything comes on, after glow plug light goes out, I try to start. Nothing. The battery is fine.
Did I connect something wrong? I drew rough pictures for the gearshift connectors.
I am sorry I did not make pictures. I guess if I have to go back in, I will make pics. I even replaced the shifter bushing. All help appreciated.

it sounds like the neutral saftey switch is not making contact. it keeps the starter from engaging when you are not in park or neutral.
