Need vac specs for tranny 81 300SD

Are there vacuum specs anyplace for the transmission on a 1981 300SD? My indy is putting a used tranny in my car and it shifts horribly. He thinks he needs to do vacuum adjustments. Does that make sense and are there specs on the forum for this?
