When that happened to me I tied it up with a few winds of CAT-5 network cable...I was working as an IT installer at the time and had a whole box in the trunk. One of my friends congratulated me on finding the nerdiest possible solution to that problem.

Bowden cable Need help please

The adjustment screw is broken the plastic snap Is there a way to change the adjustment screw without changing the whole wire ? The answer is no,until I saw you're post ? Here's my idea and would like your comment on it 1-I buy another cable Cut it so I get the adjustment plastic tab out of it 2-Then cut my actual cable to get the old one out 3-Then get the new one in 4-take the new cable bowden bellows part of it 4-Tie up the wires old and new with pliers/crimpers Could that work ?? Thank you and have a nice day

I like it. Made a similar redneck repair tonight. Bowden was all slack and shifting through the gears by 25 mph. I had a bolt, a nut, and two washers. Looped the Boeden wire around it to shorten then tightened the nut. Loosened everything a few turns. Perfect shifts after that.

Show me another car that repairs like this can be gone on! No wonder third world taxi drivers love them.
