Major Milestone Today
The 240D just rolled over to 200,000 miles on a local drive a few minutes ago. I'm not sure, but I think I noticed a heavy load on the engine just trying to turn all 6 digits at once. It seemed to take forever to change over from 199,999 to 200,000--but then I realized you always have to drive a mile to register a mile

I too have pics of major milestones. 100kmi, 155kmi, 200kmi, 250kmi, 300kmi, 312,500mi. I generally carry a camera with me when I get close to a milestone so that I dont miss it.

Bill,
I really don't expect that the six digits turning was ALL of the power problem. You were probably going uphill at the same time. You know, one of those hills that are so slight that you really can't tell you're going uphill. Keep on taking care of her like you are now and 300,000 will be no problem. I remember when my first 240D hit 200,000 miles. I literally started checking into engine rebuilding things and it was running fine. It went another 80,000 miles and was still running okay. I had not taken very good care of it cosmetically so it was looking ragged, that's when I found Ol' Silver and took better care of it, only to see 380,000 miles before engine time. Good luck, Change oil hot and change oil often, |
