1995 headlamps

The headlamps on the 1995 MY has got fog lamps in it all wired up etc but there is no fog lamp switch in the car (the headlamp switch does not flick sideways) - Are all 1995 cars like this.

1995 what? To activate the fogs pull the switch out. One click for front, two for rear and front.

x2 on what Compu says, you have to pull the switch towards you, the first position is for the front fogs, the second is for the rear if equipped

The car is a 1995 E300D and if I pull the switch the selector knob comes out - It does have fog lamp markings on the illuminated panel.

If it's similar to my cars you need to turn it CW either one click (parking lights) or two clicks (running lights) before you can pull the switch out one click.

have you turned the parking lights on or the headlights and tried? if so then you'll need a headlight switch.
