Transmission torque converter "sticking" 1990 300D

When coming to a stop in drive, the transmission seems to be engaged at idle (more than the usual torque converter ) . This lasts for about a long second, then goes back to the normal torque converter "feel" . The transmission is otherwise operating well shifting properly, no slipping . A fluid and filter change (no flush) didn't seem to make any difference . Anyone have any ideas (trouble shooting and fixes )? - Thanks

How many original miles on the 722.418 ?

Dino ATF or Synhthetic ?

Redline D4 is my choice.

Can you feel it pulling harder against the brake or just hear the engine slowing down below normal idle (which will feel rough)? If the latter, I'd start with fuel filters.
