Anyone got a 603 intake crossover tube?

Cooked my turbo finally so its time for an upgrade! Need a crossover tube so I can have it welded etc.

Winmutt is this a turbo five cyl (early 90's 300D) you are referring to? I believe I have a complete intake for one.

This is for the 87 300d but they might be the same. I know they have the same gasket part number...

Oops - that's right. I'll get a picture of it and see if there is a part number on it tomorrow and let you know.

Maybe you should forget the cross over tube & put an inter-cooler on it.

Yes. I have considered this. I am probably going to put an HY35W on there and it seems to be the cheapest most readily available replacement upgrade. I am not sure I am ready to invest the time and money for an AWIC or AAIC.

A round clamping surface of course.

The flanges at the intake are the same and shape is similar. However 602 and 603 are not the same crossovers. But for your purposes the 602 would work.

I have a crossover pipe from a 603 if you don't buy scottmcphee's instead.

This is exactly what I was thinking for my W126 300SDl. There is so much open space. I could clock the compressor to exit down and plumb under the alternator to an AAIC inside the bumper. The other side would travel along a similar path to the intake manifold on the drivers side. Blocking off the stock inlet and cut/fab/tig a new inlet that would accept an appropriately sized silicone coupling.

What the exact benefit would be? Just slightly cooler intake charge. not sure if we see much performance benefit without and increase in boost and fuel delivery. Its a start.

You can increase boost on the smaller stock turbo among other things.

I would LOVE to put an intercooler on my W126 300sd and a in car boost controller now THAT would be a nice mod anyone make a kit? or can make a kit??? wow this post was originally made before I read JiveTurkey's posts....very nice! no this project is going to wait till my w126 has fewer issues to deal with. The latest of which I discovered today is this WTF of a crossover tube rigging....I was NOT happy to find this mess!

Even with crossover pushed all the way on the turbo, the other end that attaches to the airbox wont reach. some one rigged it up with intake air hose and the grommet that is supposed to be INSIDE the crossover tube.

Do I have the wrong crossover tube on the car? Does anyone know the right part number for the 617 engine? Theres another one sitting at the local j/y I'm going to go grab it monday.
