Yes, I would replace them both. That would suck if you got it all hooked back up and freon back in and one of them failed.

If they're cheap, then maybe replace the pressure since that involves evac on the system. The temp doesn't and it's easy to check and/or replace.

I agree. The temp switch is not internal. There are now 2 types of pressure switches available - the original low-pressure switch, which is cheap enough, and the newer high and low-presuure switch, which is expensive.

Assuming this is the '85 SD, $20 - $25 bucks for the dual pressure hi-lo switch. http://catalog.peachparts.com/ShopByVehicle.epc?q=1985-Mercedes--Benz-300sd-Climate--Control&yearid=1985%40%401985&makeid=63%40%40MERCEDES+BENZ%40%40X&modelid=6209%3AED%7C10000134%3AMBC%7C1510%40%40300SD&catid=242213%40%40Climate+Control&subcatid=242239@@A%2FC+Pressure+Switch&mode=PD

$28 - $60 for the temp switch, doublecheck turn-on temps for your preference or model, http://catalog.peachparts.com/ShopByVehicle.epc?q=1985-Mercedes--Benz-300sd-Climate--Control&yearid=1985%40%401985&makeid=63%40%40MERCEDES+BENZ%40%40X&modelid=6209%3AED%7C10000134%3AMBC%7C1510%40%40300SD&catid=242213%40%40Climate+Control&subcatid=242240@@A%2FC+Temp%2E+Switch&mode=PD
