Powder coated calipers versus not?

I've discovered that my rear driver's side brake caliper has seized on my '82 300D. So I'm looking around for a replacement and I see that for $25 more I can get "powder coating." Is there a practical need for this that justifies the extra cost?

Looking at this one here.

Thanks for any thoughts!

-Chuck

No practical need, just that the powder coated painted ones do look nicer through our fancy wheels then a rusted mean looking caliper.

X2 the powdered coating is on the exterior not in the bore of the Caliper where all of the gunk and rust cause the Caliper Pistons to stick.

Would the powder coating inhibit the caliper's ability to dissipate heat?

If the brakes were used hard & often enough, it would probably burn off in time.
Colored calipers are purely for looks.

Thanks for the info! For me it is a no-brainer, then because I've got hubcaps on my 300D.
