camshaft marks 124 300D?
 

I am putting a head back on a 300D in a 124 Mercedes. I can see the mark on the camshaft itself, but cant tell what to line it up with on the head. Can someone enlighten me?

There's a notch on the forwardmost cam bearing tower. It's almost an inch away so alignment is only as good as your eyesight.
