Lego Diesel Engine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onCpCWAnZuo&NR=1

This Lego "diesel" engine sounds like the 617 in my 84 300D.

Awesome. The sound does bear an uncanny resemblance to the 617 in my 84 300D as well.

My first thought was "no way 22:1 compression with those square bores..."
really cool though. where's the injection pump?

It has an electric injection pump. Did you notice the wire running from the bottom of the engine to a power source?

pushrod with external cam even...

of course it's electrically driven... just pointing out my first impression.
in reality, the plastic could never contain the heat of the glow plugs, not to mention the square bores never building enough compression to fire diesel stream. and I doubt a plastic IP would build enough pressure to POP the injectors anyway...
heh.
