Differential / Rear Axle Rotation Question...
Hey all,
I just finished a rear brake job on the '85. Calipers, rotors, e-brake shoes. Everything has been running fine, but i noticed some (what I thought was) strange stuff when testing the rear e-brakes. With the rear wheels in the air and engine running... -When I put the car in drive, only the *left* wheel turns easily -When I put the car in reverse only the *right* wheel turns easily When the car is off and the transmission is in neutral, the wheels take approximately the same torque to rotate. (I have quadruple checked my brake job e-brake adjustments per the FSM) Am I just observing normal rear wheel drive behavior or is something up? Thanks, dd |

yup, normal.
also notice, that when you turn the wheel with the car off, the opposite side turns the opposite direction. |
