Exclamation question on Car haulers and Escrow payment

Hi folks,

Im looking at picking up a nice benz up in Huntsville AL and Im in FL.

I dont have the time to go get it (9 hours each way).

Im sure many of you have used a car hauling service and or an escrow account to ensure you dont get boned.

what companies can you recommend for these services.

the car is going from AL zip 35801 to Fl 32092

thanks for any information and what approx I should pay.

D

Too Much 21st Century "Adjustment"

Attempting to Purchase a "Previously Owned" Mercedes
(Or any other make Vehicle)
VIA "Facebook","Twitter","Facsimile",or "Ionian Satellite Communications" is
Symptomatic of Denial.
[However, I appreciate the Laugh]
Good Luck on having acceptance of your "Escrow" as payment for Vehicle!

Please let us know if you find anyone to ship you a Mercedes,as yet Unpaid For.

[Hint: Nigerian Automotive Scams come to Mind,First]

If You'll do an "Advanced Search" on this forum, there will be available to you
information on Automotive Transport Options used by others.

list it on uship.com and let people bid on it.

Ive done that several times. Great resource for finding out what it might cost to move, good place to find a cheap shipper. Payment for most shippers is on delivery that ive dealt with so far, escrow is unnecessary.

However, I would recommend this guy-

Kings RV towing. On Uship his screen name is PeterKing. He moved my 74 240D with no problems, took especial care with it. Paid him cash when he showed up with it. Nice guy

I hope you aren't implying that a (no doubt helpful) vendor has suggested you use an escrow service? If so, run don't walk away from this deal.

There are scams operating where disposable 'escrow service' websites go up and potential purchasers are incited to 'deposit' funds on the deal in good faith. As soon as a few deals are done, the website disappears along with the seller and the money.

If, on the other hand, what you mean is that you seriously think someone is going to send a car to you on approval, then you must be a funny guy to invite to a barbeque.

Want assurance? Then make time to fly there to see the car and take possession in person, or make arrangements for a dealer to look over the vehicle on your dime and report.

Or sit back in your web chair, take a deep breath and follow your gut. Either just do it or leave it be. Either way you will be right....

I've followed my gut, pulled the trigger seven times and been done over once. And on that one I ought to have known better.
