Delivery Valves or Replace IP?
My om603 IP has extremely leaky DV's. I have an IP in the basement that has all new seals. I was going to "turn up" the spare and put in on at some point.
So what's easier? Replace DV seals, with special tool. Or replace IP, with AB timing light? If there was a way to get the IP on and timed without an AB timing light, I would be all over it. I can sometimes time the "drips" from the leaky DV's at one drip a sec

Fastlane sells it, sold new on eBay and some other tool and Autopart sellers.

I believe there is no Drip Timing method specified by Mercedes for your year and model.
I think part of the reason for this is that there is no Hand Primer to pressurize the Fuel Injection Pump Housing and the Fuel Pressure Relief/Over Flow Valve is set up with a small hole to bleed off the Air. So it would take an extra setup to pressurize the Fuel Injection Pump Housing with Fuel. Next, you would need to test the Drip Timing out on a Fuel Injection Pump that hat previously been AB Light Timed to see a what degree before TDC you would get that 1 Drip per second. If you record those degrees after that you could use the Drip Method. I do not know if the 617 Drip Tube would fit the newer models so you would most likely have to make one. I think it would be less time consuming to replace the Delivery Valve O-rings and Crush washers because I believe the Timer on your Engine has to be pulled off of the Fuel Injection Pump Camshaft in order to change the Fuel Injection Pump.

Changing DV seals is way easier than changing the whole IP (shakes fist at cruise actuator).
