Rear flex disc...

here's a pic of my old rear flex disc, maybe the original????-- I imagine maybe another 1000miles and it would've probably self destructed??

It is a very comforting thing to now have BOTH the front and rear flex discs replaced...

Think of all of the People who buy these Cars not knowing that they even have Flex Discs; so, they never check them.

I helped a friend of mine purchase a 300D once. This along with the hidden rust places was one of the first things I checked for.

The rear flex disc was practically falling apart. We told the owner and he was completely surprised.

This is an important safety item right next to the rubber brake lines.

When replacing the Flex Discs... check with the MB Maintenance books for your car... some of the original specs were changed later...
I noticed this for 5 speeds for instance where they suggested that stiffness in one direction was to be used on one end ...but in the other direction for the opposite end of the driveshaft...
Just pays to check on latest updates..
PARTICULARLY if you are having ANY Vibration problems....
In other words.... a Flex Disc may look/be marked the same as what you are taking off .... and not be the one you should replace it with....
