self-leveling - little arm dangling!

I looked under my 82 300 TD and the little arm that goes from the self-leveling pump to the self-leveling arm was dangling. I got underneath and re-hooked it over the little nub and secured it with some wire with enough slack to let it work but I wonder - what is supposed to keep that thing attached?

Should be a 10mm nut attached to the stud that protrudes from the bushing. Bushing/stud should be a part of the connecting rod that sits between the valve and control rod.
