Final Drive Ratios

FYI

Sometime back I posted a request for final drive ratios on the 240D and 300D for which I received no replies. Assuming that no one knew I went searching on the good ole internet. It seems in Australia they have run several DriveR reports on Mercedes. Ck this site out: www.kom.auc.dk/~doktor/pics/mercer.html for which they give Low gear 1.41:1, 2nd gear 2.30:1, 3rd 1.41:1, and 4th as direct. Additionally, the final drive ratios are given as 3.69:1 on the 240D with possibly both 3.69:1 and 3.46:1 on the 300D. The fuel economy figures are also given with both tanks holding 80 litres. Also found several other sites that answered some of the sticky questions asked re the Mercedes line. Most of them were interesting, though I, of course, did not read them all. Just proves that the World Wide Web can be a good thing when put to the task.

Happy hunting out there in Merzland.
